All day long they twist my words; all their schemes
are for my ruin.
They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life.
They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life.
Psalms 56:5-6
Growing up as a PK (Pastor’s Kid) it
never failed to hear someone speak badly about me. Or even challenge me to an
action I was not ready to perform. You see growing up as a PK people
automatically thought I should be this and that. A “perfect angel” is
what they pinned me to be just because it somehow RELATED TO THE PASTORS.
I bring a little of my past to show
you that people are always expecting you to succeed or really wanting you to
fail when you’re in a position of privilege. However, that’s when I was a kid;
immaturity and inexperienced clouded my judgment to the knowledge of God and
what he had equipped me to do
and say.
and say.
Today we are not children. We need to
understand and accept that we need to mature and be experienced with what God
has given us in a position of privilege. What we do before God’s people
is a privilege that empowers us with great influence. The Spiderman
movie I quote…”with great power comes great responsibility.”
For those who are spectators they
assume the highest regards to those in the house of God in privilege positions,
so they expect perfection. However we know no one is perfect but we will
strive for perfection because … he who began
a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus.
Philippians 1:6
People will always talk and scheme, but don’t
give them a reason to. Decide not to fall in foolish sins when you should know
better. Just…set your hearts on things above, where
Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set
your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1b-2
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly
loved, clothe yourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all
together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule
in your hearts, since as members of one body you
were called to peace. And
be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell
among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through
psalms, hymns,
and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or
deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the
Father through him. ---Colossians
3:12-17
When we do our very best for God he
will care about the others. Ask God to help you react positively to His word to
honor Him and be a blessing to His children.
